Mastering Dyslexia: Unlock Your Child's Potential

A practical course providing strategies and tools to help dyslexic students succeed with confidence.

My Story

Hi, I'm Jamie Briggs. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in Primary 1, and I know firsthand the challenges it can bring. With the right strategies and support, I turned those challenges into strengths”achieving A Band 1s in all 15 exams I took in secondary school, and now studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. I also tutored dozens of students in maths and physics every week, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

Now, I'm looking to inspire and aid dyslexic students like myself. I've noticed a lack of information on effectively using tools and navigating the academic world as a dyslexic student. Over the years, I've been approached by many people curious about how I've managed it all”so I've created this course to share what I've learned and help others succeed.

What's in the Course

My Philosophy

This course is designed for students aged 12 and up — essentially, when you begin secondary school. At that stage, you're expected to work more independently and be able to read and write confidently in every subject. That means processing information and producing work becomes essential.

For many dyslexic students, this is where things can become difficult. Even with a strong aptitude and deep understanding of subjects, they can start to fall behind simply because reading and writing — the way information is normally taught and assessed — don't come easily. That's why we take a different approach: instead of trying to improve reading and writing in the traditional way, we focus on finding methods that work for the dyslexic brain.

We use different strategies. Sometimes, our brains just aren't wired for conventional reading and writing, so we explore tools that achieve the same goals in ways that suit how we think. For example, listening instead of reading, or speaking instead of writing.

Did you know Albert Einstein is also dyslexic?

Workshop 1: Text to Brain

READING, REWIRED

Whether it's the reading itself or understanding what's been read, many students struggle to take information in — especially when they're under pressure. In this workshop, we switch the input entirely. Instead of trying to force reading to get better, we use simple, powerful tools that turn any text into audio. Your child can listen to worksheets, websites, and books — with the words highlighted as they go. That means their brain gets two inputs at once: audio and visual. For dyslexic learners, this makes understanding faster, easier, and far less stressful.

  • Listen to anything: PDFs, Word docs, websites, even printed handouts
  • Works on any device: laptop, tablet, or phone
  • Highlights text as it reads — combining visual and audio input
  • Reliable, easy-to-use tools picked specifically for dyslexic brains
Focus Processing Accessibility

Workshop 2: Brain to Text

WRITING, REWORKED

For many dyslexic learners, writing is where things fall apart whether it's spelling, handwriting, or just getting thoughts onto the page. It's not a lack of ideas; it's the disconnect between the brain and the pen (or keyboard). In this workshop, we teach a different way to write: using dictation. Not just pressing the mic button, but learning how to use dictation properly as a skill and a workflow. You'll learn how to speak great paragraphs, edit with ease, and use dictation in everything from classwork to exams. It's not about cutting corners it's about unlocking what's already in your head.

  • Learn to use dictation with structure and confidence
  • Build a workflow that works for creative writing, essays, and answers
  • Use tools that help process your ideas and make writing smoother
  • Make written output easier, faster, and more natural
Expression Productivity

Workshop 3: Super Brain

STUDYING, SMARTER

For many students with dyslexia, the biggest frustration is knowing the content — but not seeing that reflected in their grades. The first two workshops help unlock reading and writing, but this one takes it further: how do you learn and remember in a way that works for your brain? In this session, we teach dyslexia-friendly study methods that actually stick. From how to understand and process tricky topics, to how to lock in key facts and recall them when it matters — like in a test. We also explore clever tools (including a few AI-powered ones) that support memory, confidence, and revision. These techniques don’t just improve performance — they help students realise how capable they really are.

  • Study techniques built for dyslexic brains
  • Tools and tricks to boost memory and recall
  • Learn how to understand complex material more easily
  • Use AI to summarise, quiz, and reinforce key ideas

"Thanks, Jamie - we found the course really helpful and also inspiring... The text-to-speech and summarising text were definitely the most useful for understanding how best to process information. It is tools I would now use myself as well. Jamie is really personable and fun, making the course enjoyable for all ages. He has a real passion for what he does, and I would highly recommend him. Many thanks, Jamie!"

"My 13-year-old daughter and myself just took part in an online course run by Jamie Briggs... Jeannie has implemented all of the things that Jamie has taught her and is already finding school life more manageable. Chat GPT is an absolute game-changer. I highly recommend Jamie to any children who are either dyslexic or maybe just have trouble understanding large documents used in school or in life."

- Liza Woods, Jeannie's mum

"I found Jamie’s video on a Sunday morning scrolling on Instagram. I sent a message asking what the course involved and was met by a message back and a lengthy phone conversation later in the week. Jamie was very knowledgeable and understood the challenges dyslexic learners face first hand... If you are reading this wondering do I sign my child up to Jamie’s course YES you should. Even if your child is exposed to one thing that will help and support them inside and outside of school then YES sign them up!"

- Gillian Wilson

"I would highly recommend Jamie’s course for anyone struggling with dyslexia. His patience, expertise and personalised approach have already made a difference to my son’s learning approach and confidence."

- Kim Fancourt

"My son is buzzing! He’s loved working with Jamie and what a boost to his confidence 😊 He started to use the skills Jamie gave him straight away - even in an after school club the night of lesson one. He attends a drama club which he loves, but because of his dyslexia, he found reading the scripts stressful in front of a class , he used the technology Jamie facilitated for him to make it instantly more accessible, my son is delighted… and so am I! Thank you Jamie."

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a three-part workshop series designed to help dyslexic students learn in smarter, more efficient ways. It introduces tools like screen readers, voice dictation, and AI to remove learning barriers and build confidence.

The core of the course is delivered in three live, one-hour workshops. These sessions are practical, interactive, and designed to build on each other.

Jamie Briggs, a 19-year-old student with dyslexia who has gone on to succeed at school and university. After helping other students with similar challenges, he created this course to share what actually works in real life.

Yes—before each workshop, there’ll be a short setup task (usually less than 20 minutes) to make sure you’re ready to get the most out of the session. This might include installing an app or testing a tool we’ll be using. To support you, you’ll also have access to the Support Toolbox—a collection of bite-sized demo videos and written instructions so everything is clear, simple, and ready to go.

It’s ideal for children aged 11–16, though older or younger students may still benefit depending on their level of independence.

The Toolbox includes step-by-step demos of every tool shown in the course, clear written instructions, troubleshooting help, and ongoing support if your child gets stuck. It’s there to make sure every student can follow along and succeed—even outside of the live sessions.

You’ll need a laptop or desktop computer for the workshops. A tablet or smartphone is also very helpful, especially for practising scanning physical text and using dictation apps.

Definitely. The course is built to support children who find reading and writing difficult. It focuses on alternative methods of taking in and expressing information that bypass the traditional route.

That’s absolutely fine. Everything is explained step by step during the course and backed up in the Toolbox so they can practise at their own pace. Parent support during the activities is encouraged but not essential.

We offer a 100% money-back guarantee if you feel the course didn’t provide value. There’s no risk in trying it.

Because the sessions build on each other, we recommend committing to the full course. However, if after the first session you feel it’s not a good fit, we’ll give you a full refund—no questions asked.

The course is specifically designed for dyslexia. However, as someone with both dyslexia and ADHD, Jamie has built in techniques that also help with focus, processing speed, and engagement. Many parents of neurodivergent children have found the strategies useful across the board.

Not required, but encouraged—especially during the activities. Your support can make a difference in helping your child feel confident using the tools.

Each workshop is just one hour. Outside of that, students are encouraged to practise using the tools in daily life, but everything is designed to save time and reduce learning frustration long-term.
